Sammie and Michelle start with a little conversation about their recent travels and some unexpected small town problems. After that, they get into the topic of what is true financial independence. This episode they talk about financial independence and what it technically means as well as what it means to them. When discussing the financial independence retire early (FIRE) movement, they find people can get caught up with the "retire early" aspect which doesn't resonate with everybody. However, Sammie and Michelle believe the real benefits of FI are outside the ability to retire from working forever.
